Who we are
In the belt, not selling into it.
Ramganj Mandi is where Kota stone comes from. Being here means we see the stone before it is sold, we know which beds are running well this season, and we can put a person in front of a stack rather than forward you a photograph.
We saw, finish and cut to size at our own unit at Amarpura Choraha, and we buy from quarries and yards across the belt that we have dealt with for years. Either way the stone is checked, sorted and loaded by our own people before it leaves for your site.
Most of what we ship is Kota limestone: blue-grey, brown and coffee, in nine products from bed-run ratya through to calibrated tiles at full polish. Alongside it we cut red Mandana sandstone from the belt next door. Either stone, we do the whole of it — sawing, finishing, calibrating, cutting to size and loading.
Who runs it
You are dealing with the firm, not a desk.
Kumawat Stones is run by its three directors, with Arjun and Hemant on the sales lines — the number at the top of every page is the first of them. On an order that matters — a tone match across a whole floor, a phased delivery that has to hold, a rate you are trying to hold a contract to — you can get them on the phone.
There is no chain of people between your specification and the person who decides what gets loaded.
The unit
What we do ourselves.
- Sawing and sizing. Standard sizes off the grid, and cut-to-size to your drawing.
- Finishing. Honing, table polish, diamond polish, mirror polish, leather and river finishes.
- Calibration. Thickness-grinding where the job needs an even bed depth.
- Edge work. Bullnose, mitre, drip grooves, anti-skid grooving on treads.
- Sorting. Grade and tone sorted by hand before loading, not at the buyer's end.
- Loading. Loads built with stone dividers so material arrives as it left.

One bed, one floor
On large orders we hold a single bed so the whole area lays up as one tone rather than in patches.

Phased dispatch to match a site programme, from stock set aside for you.

Ex-yard and delivered quoted separately, so the freight is visible.
Loads built properly
Stone dividers and edge protection, so breakage is our problem and not yours.
Straight answers
We will tell you when a stone or a finish is wrong for your job, including when the answer is a cheaper one.
