Mandana sandstone
Mandana stone high polish
Deep red Mandana at full gloss, for interiors.
What it is
Red sandstone taken to a mirror.
Taken through the polishing line to a full gloss, Mandana goes from the dusty red of the sawn face to a deep, saturated oxblood. It is a different stone to look at polished than it is matt — closer to a red granite than to the paving most people picture when they hear sandstone.
Polish it for interiors: floors, feature walls, risers, counters and cladding that stays dry. Outside, weather takes the shine off within a couple of seasons and a polished face is slippery in the rain — that is what the semi polished and natural faces are for.
Where it belongs
The jobs this one is for.

- Interior floors and feature walls
- Reception areas and lobbies wanting a warm, dark stone
- Risers, skirting and cladding to match a polished floor
- Interior only — polish and rain do not mix
Worth knowing
Polish shows every mark in the bed, so polished lots are sorted harder than sawn ones. Ask for a physical piece: red reads very differently under daylight and under warm indoor light.
